Hi! This is Sandy with Afloral and today we are going to make Centerpieces. I have an oblong container and a piece of foam. If you put your foam in here, you can see what really here but I like to glue or tape it in.
I have some hot glue. So, you can hot glue or you can use the floral tape.
(Demo)
Either way, it just ensures that your foam will stay attached to your dish.
(Demo)
I love this spray of flowers. It has gardenias, lilies, hydrangea, and stephanotis, and it comes with lovely greenery as well.
(Demo)
These makes a beautiful stem of flowers to make either bouquets or centerpieces with. We will cut each of this flowers off the original stem
(Demo)
And use them individually to make our centerpiece. When you make an oblong centerpiece, it is one of the few times that you used an even number in floral designs. We will use fours and that is very unusual. So, let me start and show you four flowers.
(Demo)
We are going to put four lilies in.
(Demo)
One at each corner of the foam.
(Demo)
Now, we are going to elongate it and so we will put two stems of stephanotis and hydrangea, coming out either end,
(Demo)
Now, to keep our fours, if we have two at this end, we will need two on either side.
(Demo)
Again, some stephanotis,
(Demo)
Now, as you are looking at it, you can see we have two and two that is one group of four and the four lilies here at the center that is another group of four.
(Demo)
We always have to have one stem up in the center.
(Demo)
We do not consider that part of our groups of four.
Now, I have some beautiful gardenias and let us put those in between the lilies. That one we call the focal play of our centerpiece at the center, not at the top, not at the outside.
(Demo)
You see how quickly it fills in because of the greenery that is on with these flowers.
(Demo)
Now, we have gardenias, four lilies, and four stephanotis, and of course the center stem of flowers. This is the majority of your centerpiece. At this point, we need to fill in a little bit underneath each of our lilies which will be four more stems
(Demo)
And once you have those four pieces in, the last thing that you need to do is just fill in with a little greenery.
(Demo)
Any of the holes that you see.
(Demo)
I have some ivy, this was an ivy bush and you can just slip some pieces of your ivy.
(Demo)
Wherever you see some of the foam and this is a nice way to fill in
(Demo)
And also an inexpensive way.
(Demo)
Is not it that beautiful. Good luck!
