Quilters sometimes ask how to get nice square corners where you got patches that are reeling. And there are a couple of ways to do that, to start about patch actually so that you can it get it right.
One is to make sure that your seam allowances are pointing opposite directions. So, for instance, this one is going to point toward the blue or both are going to point toward blue. I could make a pointer of the black but there the point is at the blue this time.
And then, what I do is when I can nuzzle the seams together. So, what happens is when you are folding your seam alone, you can see that there is a little like one side of the fabric is lower than the other because this one has got two layers of fabric.
What you can do is put those right together so that they back up against each other and then sometimes I put a pin in to keep them in place but often times though they just stay in place themselves. And then you just sew a quarter of an inch. Now, one of the other case is that if you have the seams along pointing away from your sewing machine and that is the one on the bottom. It tends to work better because this one is going to be pushed in to the bottom line.
So now, I just going to sew a quarter of an inch and then I open it up and you can see that is as close as you can get it.
