Okay. Hi again and welcome to another one of my easy to play lessons. Here is one that is really easy for you to learn. This would not take you too long at all. Basic chords C, F and G, that type of thing. It is a fun song called “Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da” by The Beatles. I do not know what Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da means. I guess probably just some noises or something but let us just stick with the music and let The Beatles figure out what they meant by that title.
Okay, so I am going to go through it once first and then we will get into learn how to play it. How is that? Okay.
[Demo]
That is the first and then the chorus.
[Demo]
Okay and then the chorus goes through that again. Okay, so that is what we are going to learn. Okay, chord wise, we are going to use our famous C chord, so find your C note. Use your Brad spread there and you will get your C chord. We are also going to play a C7, okay. So you keep these three fingers where they are at this black note up here. You have to slide your fingers up the piano a little bit just to get it because you know it seems they are a little shorter, okay.
That is your C7. We are going to use a D minor. So, find your D. Use your Brad spread, that will give you a D minor and we are going to use a G7, okay. So, if you just play this. Now G chord or here. Okay, we are going to play this way, but add this finger down here. I guess we are going to just go bang, bang, bang, bang. That is going to be a G7 and will actually be easier to play because you are going to be at D minor here and then just going like that, just switch to it so it is a lot easier than what I am doing in here, okay.
We are also going to be using an F chord in it. I think that is about it. If there is anymore, we will pick them up as we go along. Okay and with the right hand, we are going to start off with the E note here, okay? Let us just do a right hand first here okay.
[Demo]
Okay sing that in your head or out loud as you are doing it because it is a lot easier to learn. I would not sing because I will probably break the camera. But you, you try it.
[Demo]
Easy eh? And then go up here. Okay, let us do that one more time.
[Demo]
To the F here.
[Demo]
A lot of repetitive notes here that is why it is helpful to sing it in your mind or out loud, okay. Let us include the chords with the first part now. Grab a C chord with your left hand and starting on your E note here, okay. Together let us go.
[Demo]
Now, your G7 and actually this note on your right hand is part of that chord too, so just play that one with your right hand and these three here, okay. Let us start that over so you do not get confused, okay.
[Demo]
Okay did you get that? Let us try it one more time.
[Demo]
Okay next part is swap to your F chord or F note.
[Demo]
Okay. And chord wise, you are going to be using a D minor down here.
[Demo]
And to your G7 again.
[Demo]
And down to a C.
[Demo]
Okay one more time. D minor on your left hand.
[Demo]
G7.
[Demo]
Go back to a C. Okay so let us go over that whole first part again, okay. C chord in your left hand and your E note here, okay.
[Demo]
G7.
[Demo]
Okay, D minor.
[Demo]
Back to your G7 again, back to your C. Okay that is the first part. Okay and then in this part, starting off with our G note over here, okay and we will just do the right hand first.
[Demo]
Okay let us do that again. Okay, starting up here in this G. It helps to sing it so do sing along while you are playing okay.
[Demo]
Okay, let us put some chords with it now. So, we are going to have our right fingers starting here. We are going to go to a C7 okay. So here is your C, add the black note here.
[Demo]
Slide your fingers a little bit forward like that so you can hit that, your thumb can hit that black note okay. F chord, down to your C, G7 and back to your C. Okay, so we do that again starting with your G note here, C chord in your left hand okay and actually C7, sorry. You will take your C. Add this black note to it. Okay here we go.
[Demo]
Your F chord, C chord, G7 and a C. Okay, so do it one more time. Well good
