Learn how to remove a non-self extracting crank

To remove the crank, you need a puller. These are both Park Puller CCP-4, CCP-2. This is the one you would use for this, for a square taper because it's a small square taper and this bigger one is for the larger spline spindle like Shimano Octalink and Isis, which is another type of large spline bottom bracket spindle. Reverse, you get the crank bolt out. It is a eight millimeter hex key type. Tighten this in so that the bolt doesn't extend very far from it so that you know as you tighten it into the crank arm, you are not pushing that bolt against the end of the spindle and then it takes some force for sure to push it off. It comes off quite easily enough. And that's all there is to pulling a crank arm off that is not self-extracting and putting the crank back on whether you use it in a 14 millimeter hex head or a eight millimeter allen head bolt, you just tighten it on to the specified torque setting just like if it were a self-extracting crank; it is no different.
