Hi! I am here on few basic tips on window screen replacement. Replacing a window screen is something you can do yourself if you choose to. Personally, I always take it to a professional because at the end of the day, you are going to pay almost the same amount because your time is worth something and it is a little bit time consuming. But anyway, if you do want to do it, it can be done. You need to extract the screen obviously out of the window which usually just pops on the inside, comes out. The frame of the screen comes apart. The corners here are all able to come apart from one another so you will pull the frame apart, you will take out the old screen. Now, there is a gasket that you need to retain so do not throw that away. You can go down to your local hardware store. They do sell screen. It is mesh. You can buy it in rolls. What you want to do then is take the old screen out. Keep the gasket. Put it down. You are going to need a work table and you are going to need to be able to put the frame down and you are going to need to be able to put the frame back together all in one spot. What you want to do is you want to roll out your screen and you want to go ahead and fit it back into the frame when it is apart, you can put the bottom together. Fit that, roll it out, put the top together. Put the frame back together again, keeping the gasket intact and then you are going to want to take a utility knife and you are going to want to cut around it; the excess off a bit. That is where I have got into trouble because you can go ahead and put a hole in there and have to start all over again. But that is the basis of it. The basics of window screen replacement. Again, I always say I like to go to a professional on it but you can do it yourself. Thank you.
