Freeware Tip: Restore Music From Your iPod using iDump.
In this video I am going to cover something that has been requested several times and that is how to retrieve music off of your iPod and copy it back to your computer.
To do this we are going to need a free program called iDump so I just do a Google search for iDump and click on the first result. And that should take you to a download page. Now, it is a fairly small program so that should not take to long to download or install but ones you have it installed just go ahead and plug in your iPod and let it wait for it to be recognized by your computer and then launch the iDump application.
In this I just typed in iDump and hit enter all in next pages go to program follows. But ones the programs up click on the output options tab and this will allow you to do things like change the output directory or change the output format how it is going to be copied over. You can also choose to create a play list of the transferred files or you can also choose for it not to warn you if you run into any errors.
Now, all you have to do is select the music that you want copied over and click the start copy button. And just to show you what it just did this is the directory that it outputted the music in and this is music that it just copied over.
All right, now you can also go to tools and copy item to iPod and this will copy the program to your iPod. You can run it on any computer. All right, well, that it is for this video.
