[Music Playing] Female: Hey everyone and welcome to very special episode of Thread Banger. Male: All right, so while back we have gave away a brand new Jenome Sewing Machine at Lassie from Lincoln Nebraska. You might remember her from her winning Thread Bangers sing along video entry. [Music Playing] Female: Well, after she won and received her machine, she was cool enough to break out the video camera and give us a little lesson in DIY T-shirt recon. [Music Playing] Lassie: Hey, Thread heads! It is Lassie, the winner of the Jenome Sewing Machine. Today, I am going to show you how to taken old T-shirt and make it a new summer top. Thanks to Jenome and Thread Bangers for bringing sewing machine. First thing you need is a T-shirt. I like using a 100% cotton, because there stretch you need to use. And, you need one that is either two big for you or it fits you will. The first thing you want to do with it is turn it inside out and cut off the sleeves. Cut the shoulder seams out and you either you use scissors or anything. Now, you should have two flops under shirt, which is suppose to be at the top. Turn it around and take the bottom hem and this should be the back of the shirt. And then, separate it and cut it into a slit, just enough to be elastic. Next, you want to have elastic for your shirt and you want enough to fit tightly and securely around the top of your bust, because it is going to separate over the top, not too short that you cannot sew it. You take a safety pin. You put that on there and put it on the fold that you cut in your shirt. After you have it all fit groomed, attach your safety pin to get free ended that elastic that way did it now and try it on. Now, my evolution when I make adjustments where you need to, but once you have it fit well, you want to sew the two ends together and then tuck it underneath the folds so it would overlap. The smaller the shirt is the smoother the edge will be and if it is a large shirt, it will have more raffles. Then replace the safety pin, a sewing pin to keep the elastic in place and then if you want to pull the elastic out of your shirt and sew a zigzag stitch right down at the center. And, you want to go back and forth a couple of times just so it is secured as possible. And then, trim the edges back into your shirt into the hole. And then sew the whole folds right there. You want to try your shirt on and you use to double check to make sure it works and then if the shirt fits you already then it is done. If it is do not you need a pinch and pin or make a pattern, so it does fit and you can pretty much do whatever you want this and then you want to have the bottom. Now, you have the fancy new top that you can wear. I can move around it. You can scream pretty, you can use any of the other episodes just you jazz it up.
