How about just letting them know that your door is open, that when they have a question, they can come to you and when they come to you, they can actually sit and listen to what else you were doing and how some of the parts of the business is running. It's going to impart additional knowledge that may seen ancillary to what their primary function is, but it also may help them become a better functioning part of the company, more productive in this role or what their next role will be with the company.
