Oh boy, there’s got to be a better way. Just about everybody knows that best way to apply dry wall to a wall or ceilings is to use screws. Screws have fantastic holding power but they take a little bit of effort to put in. you want to use screwdriver while you can if you want to but it will take a lot of time. One of the alternatives, there are two actually. You can use a drill or you can use a screw gun. If you use a drill, you have to have one that has an adjustable speed to it, they work fast. You insert into the end of the drill a simple Philips tip and get to work. Now, the problem with the drill is that if you do not go slowly towards the end or if you use to much power, the screw will go in too far, it will tear the paper and basically it is useless. The better tool to use is a screw gun. What is special about a screw gun? It has a special color and a clutch that stops the driving motion of the gun when the screw has reached a certain depth. You adjust the color by twisting it one way or the other and each notch on my particular screw gun adjust the depths 164th of an inch. You will often need to do some trial screws to get the depth just right and when you do, you can hundreds and hundreds of screws without a worry of tearing the dry wall paper. Oh yes, screw guns, they are best. Make sure you use one when you do your drywall work. If you do not own one, go a tool rental stool, they are commonly available. Make sure you get a number two Philips bit as well. If you want to discover more home improvement tips, go to askthebuilder.com.
