Now, this gets even better because you will find under the edit menu over here on the left, let us choose that and go down to the very last item here called keyboard shortcuts. So, this is going to be interesting. Let us choose that and we get the keyboard shortcuts window here.
Now, this is a great place to customize your own keyboard shortcuts. So if you have a specific keyboard shortcut that you would like to use that is different than the one that is pre installed, you can change it here. Or if there is not one where you would like one, you can assign one here. So, let us see.
First thing we need to do is create a new set and we will do that by clicking on the new set button. Why do we have to do that? Because you cannot change the default set. That is unchangeably; you got to make a new set to make any changes. So you will need to make a new set in order to apply your own keyboard shortcuts. So, I am going to name this set just like I named my workspace Total Training. Now, I will say Okay and then click the okay button.
Now, at this point, I can go ahead and begin to create keyboard shortcuts of my own.
Now, you remember that we created our own work space in the window menu under work spaces. What I would like to do now is go to that work space, the one we called Total Training and give it its own keyboard shortcut. Why do I want to do that? Because after I had messed up my screen, I can just press a couple of keys on my keyboard and get back to where I really want to be.
So, how do we it? Select the item to which you want to apply a keyboard shortcut. Move down into the field that says press new shortcut. You need to actually get your curser in there or you will not be able to do anything. And then, on your keyboard, press the keys that want to assign to that keyboard shortcut. I pressed Option Command T on my keyboard and what do I see here? GoLive is telling me that was currently assigned to special forms, start tabulator indexing.
Well, you know what? I never use that keyboard shortcut for anything so I am going to say okay, I want that keyboard shortcut to be assigned to my work space. So I click the assign button and now, that shortcut is a sign to my work space instead of some command that I would never use. Okay, so we get the idea there. I am just going to click okay to dismiss the keyboard shortcut dialog box.
