Rob: Well if you do not have any presents to wrap by now? You are slacking. Corinne: This week, we are going to show you some quick and easy way just to stylize your packages using recycled materials of course. (Music playing) Corinne: Alright, for the first project you need to get on the note potato and cut it in half. With the marker, draw a simple shape on to the cut part of the potato. Now, take out an exact tone knife and very cut away the negative parts of your shape like so, and you have a potato stem. Next, take out an old paper bag, open up the bottom and cut the bag down the side so it laced flat. Get out some acrylic paint and brush it on to your stem. Press the stem firmly to your paper and repeat until you are happy with the look. Wait for it to dry, and then wrap up a gift. Next, cut out all the rectangle for a card and make sure to tag a little recycle sign on there, and you are done. Another nice way to give gifts is in the old basket. Take out the magazines that you already read and cut the whole thing with the strips. Stuff the bottom of the basket with the strips and start adding stuffs. You can even use pages from a fashion magazine to wrap up small gifts then add some cheese, a few springs of lavender, a little bow, and I love it. If you want a large outward shape to give the wrap, use and old sewing pattern, and if you want a matching decoration, you too have use a natural mind set has a great tool for using old patterns to make pom-poms. Speaking of decorations, I found an old music book, ripped out and rolled out a couple of pages, then added one to each of my packages for a nice little touch. Some other recycled wrapping options include old maps, the Sunday Funnies, or old comic books, scrap fabric, and I even use ash trotter. Pop it, at least they’re gone, they left the common explaining how to press raw materials into wax paper for a cool effect, and Expert Village has some great step by step gift wrapping “how to’s” that you should definitely check out if your still having problems in that area. Corinne: The possibilities are endless, just be creative. Bob: If you have any tips or suggestions of your own, send them to us or write at threadbanger.com. Corinne: Happy holidays.
