I thought it would be fun to take organizing to a new, more marvelous level. So, we all have these things in our home. If we open up our closets, we want to fix them up, we want everything to be all pulled together and beautiful. And one of the things that we all seem to keep tucked away; we women anyways, is our jewelry. And I don't have priceless jewelry, all my jewelry is sort of costume jewelry, it's bubbly, it's fun. It's stuff I have been collecting from vintage stores and antique shop, since I was probably 17-years-old, and I still have most of it. And now that we design our own jewelry line, I figured it was high time for me to do something very special with it. Right now, most people's jewelry drawers look like this. And really, while it's a fun thing to spy and look at, it's really not all that spectacular and glamorous. You may as well take this, and turn it into something much more special. I mean, in my jewelry drawer, I have all kinds of funky junk and I love that about it, it's kind of like my little magpie asset, President Ford button, little pictures of the boys when they were babies, the chip for an ice cream cone and then just funky big, chunky jewelry and watches and sewing kits. I mean for sure this is one of my kids favorite places to look in, they pull in this drawer and they look in here and there is always so much fun and interesting stuff. Well, I thought it would be fun to take this stuff, take what essentially happens to women, and turn this into sort of this mangled mess of necklaces and earrings and all that stuff, and turn it into something inspiring and beautiful. It is high time that we take our beautiful things and pull them out of the drawers and do something pretty with them. So, don't ask your husband, just jump into this one, and do it. I've got this almirah in our bedroom and I love this, because it's a piece that we designed years ago, but I love it for my books and everything, because I of course have to have books all around me all the time, but I thought this would be kind of the perfect place for me, especially since I have four young boys and their little wondering fingers they are bound and determined to get into everything, this is kind of the place for me. So right now, I just keep books, and a few pretty pair shoes and things like that, just various miscellaneous things in here. But I know what I can turn this thing into because, it's kind of the perfect spot for me. So I am going to take some of my books out, and I can push some of my books back, because I love the way books look at the backdrop anyway. So if you have spare books to keep around or magazines or things like that, they are very pretty anyway. And I love the way stacks of books and magazines look. So then, what I've done is I've kind of collected a range of things, I actually went into our pantry. And I pulled out beautiful little bowls and teacups and pretty little wonderful things. I found this gorgeous little ashtray that my mom gave me years ago. I remember this being in their house, and I pulled this mirror off the wall. We are going to miss one mirror on the wall. I thought, this would kind of pretty in my mix. I just kind of went around the house, and I gathered up interesting things. This beautiful silver bowl that I thought I can pile high with the bracelets and all the cups and things I have. I have pretty little statues and plates and things that I am not quite sure how it's all going to come together, yet we'll sort of do this together, but I think it's going to be fun. I even grabbed these beautiful, this pretty sorbet dish, we designed this years ago, and I thought, oh! This might be perfect for rings. So, this little candle dish might be just the right thing to put some rings in. Even this little funky number, this is, it's actually a Christmas dish to put little goodies and treats in. But I thought, oh! This is so darling to put some rings and things in. So we'll kind of get into this whole thing, and I even brought, I pulled some framed art, and a box out of another room, and I will put this together with you and I am hoping what it does is it inspires you to recreate your jewelry in a much more beautiful way. So, I am just going to begin, actually I think, I am going to put this one up here and we will begin by just kind of putting some things in here, just to create a little ambience for myself, and I am going to -- so just basically I am kind of setting the tone. Now one other things I am going to do is, I am going to grab this bowl, I love the idea like I said of a bunch of cups and things in here. I just think it makes it a lot more appealing than me digging into my drawer, and look how beautiful and inspiring that is to look at. To pick through this in the morning it's so much more fun than going through my drawers and things. So, this I'll just put right here, and it's elegant and I want to be able to wake up, and I get dressed pretty quickly in the morning, for me putting on my makeup is 5-10 minute ordeal. I throw on my clothes and then a few great jewelry pieces and it just helps me feel really pulled together. This little mirror, I am actually going to turn on its side like that, that's pretty. I love the way that reflection works. I just think it's such a nice way to add a little bit of shine. I also have this statute, that weighs a thousand times. But I have this beautiful little statute, this is a statute that I actually keep in our herb garden, but I always pull it inside in the winter, and I love it so much. My mother-in-law; oops! There goes that jewelry box, my mother-in-law gave it to me, and I think it's kind of really fun to put in here, and look at this little spot right there, that is so cute. I can put some rings right there and just kind of approach them, this is still very magpie, I hope you know what I mean when I say magpie, because I sort of view almost everything I do with kind of this magpie thing. I am always collecting and nesting and turning things into other things. But isn't it getting pretty already. I mean it's already very inspiring. I have some necklaces here and this happens to be a really cool piece because it also has a bar, since it is in almirah, so I can actually dangled some things off of this pretty bar, which I love the idea of really being able to see some of these necklaces and things, look how pretty that is. So, I am going to put a few necklaces up here, that looks kind of cool. It's so much more inspiring already. I am sure I'll end up wearing things now, that they end up being thrown to the bottom of the drawer or whatever and again, a lot of this stuff is kind of -- are little funky products, I have had these literally since I was 17. Inexpensive, while I am hunting around for a vintage stuff, but isn't that pretty up there. Kind of cool. I even think it would be pretty to take a necklace and adorn this little guy, to kind of create more of a cool vignette. Okay, what else am I going to put in here? I am going to put this little guy in here, I love this little statute, it's so sweet. And then I love the idea of this with some more rings, kind of nice. I love the idea of a mix of colors too. You can see that I have different textures and colors, the shoes are so pretty in here. Life is short, you may as well make it very inspiring, right? Before you know it, you look around and time has flown and I want to be able to look around and say, you know what, I tried a lot of different things, and I was inspired in a lot of different ways that pretty little sorbet dish. I love little postcards and things like this too. Anytime I travel, I will always get into museum stores and that kind of thing, and always pick up beautiful little postcards, because I just think they are so beautiful to just sort of set around and put in different little spots. I put a few things right in here. I also love the idea of a little lamp in here because, I love the lamp, but look at how cute this will be. A lamp is so charming in here, next to this little guy, my little Buddha lamp, it frames good karma anyway. So, also you could actually do a pair of lamps, how cute that would be. So adorable, I only have one of these, I love tiny lamps, there is always an other spot for a tiny lamp. And I found some scarves to put in here, I've got the rings in this beautiful little dish, it's so pretty. It's so much more inspiring to me to look at things this way. I am sure I'll continue fiddling around with this. I mean, as you can see the whole thing coming together was pretty quick as it is. But this is a kind of thing that will be fun for me to just kind of fidget around with. So why not be extraordinary.
