Male: In modern times, Karate is often thought of as a striking only Martial Art. In recent years, Ian Abernethy has done his best to correct this misconception, using applications taken directly from the cutter and backing them up with genuine historical evidence as well as common sense. Ian has put throws and grappling back into traditional karate.
Ian: The 5th movement is an alternative, so we have got to him but we have dealing with the grapple holds about this, the kind of turn and pivot down for the, the movement and the a whole stance.
So on that, what we will be doing is it is a throw, we are throwing the opponent across the mat(ph). So to see him, initial start, same idea, I want to turn from him and taking his arms off, pushing his arms off.
And then I am going to take his arm down, do it with a cataloes(ph), this leg goes forwards and then I am going to shoot to underneath. So the other just hook that arm underneath so I can grab the clothing if it is there to be grabbed. And then I am going to step out, just the tip nobody from the pull, if I pull it towards my hips and just take him over and drop him down on the ground.
So it again resembles the final position in the form. So I will start one more time, so the grabs came on from there, we are moving back getting rid of the arm, and you can put in a strike here if you like. Move through, check all of the arms step out, or the back of the hip, open(ph) him over, and once your opponent is on the floor, obviously you can finish his safe beat(ph).
