Choosing just the right gift for someone around the holidays can be quite a challenge. Over the years I’ve found that most people are thrilled to get one of this. This is an amaryllis bulb. And I know it doesn’t look like much now but just wait about 6 weeks. The blooms that come from this little package are among the most traumatic and beautiful with colors that can range from red to pink to white. The colors don’t stop here some are salmon and some of the new varieties even have yellowish green tinges to the blossoms. Any one can grow this flower and I mean any one it doesn’t matter where you live or how green you think your thumb is. You see the flowers already package inside here all we have to do is provide the right conditions for it to grow. And before you know it you’ll have beautiful blooms, this bulbs will grow in surprisingly small containers. But you’ll need to choose one large enough to keep the plant from toppling over. You see the blossoms can be so large, they’re a bit top heavy. I just plant them in an ordinary top soil with the soil coming up just to shoulder of the bulb leaving about this much of it as exposed. Once the bulb is spotted I’ll place it in a warm room or window. And as soon I see the first signs of growth such as this green bubs emerging from this bulb I’ll give it it’s first drink of water. By holding watering amaryllis until they begin growing you could avoid any chance of the bulb broaching. This is one you can have enough off during the holidays or even into the New Year.
