Hi everybody, I am Patti, the garden girl, and today I am going to walk you through a daily feeding of all of my small livestock on my urban sustainable farm. The way I have set it up, it only takes me 20 minutes and even my 8-year-old can do it. The first thing I have to do is load up my cart with hay, this is pretty much enough hay for my goats and all my rabbits and the chicken. Now what I have done is I have put all of the food for all of the livestock near their cages. So I really don't have to lug much stuff on a daily basis. Now my first stop is here with the chickens and with my chickens and all of my livestock, I have got their main food in a bin right next to the cage.
Now for my water, I just end up dumping it out and getting my hose and spraying down their water. Hey guys! Alright, after I have given them food and water, I am just going to now throw down a little bit of hay. Keep things dry and fresh in this type of chicken drafter. I don't see any eggs right now, but I am going to finish feeding the rest of the animals and swing back around and check and see how many eggs I have got.
Next, I have got to do all with of my rabbits, they are so sweet, they are so amazing to look at and pet and they are very, very friendly. So all I have to do is give them a little hay. I give them about a handful each and I kind of batch my tasks now. So I am just going to go this little section, give everybody their hay.
Alright, so everybody here has hay, next I go through and I just fill their waters and I have made it super easy on myself and I just have these little flip caps. Now, I am on this side, I am almost done. It's not going to take me too much longer. I have just a -- again give them hay, food and water.
Now for these guys since I have got a quite a few bunnies in here, I just leave the bowl in there. These are two female antoids and they were born here and they are Papa Jim's babies and Holli's babies. The next closest animals are my goats so that's who I feed next.
Hey guys! What's up? Hi! And this food is actually really interesting, it's got a whole bunch of different types of corn and grain and even has a little bit of malaises in it and it's very sticky and they love it.
So far, I have fed about 15 animals and I haven't even broken a sweat. So Farmers'AlmanacTV.com, I am Patti the garden girl.
