Hi, I am Steve Terrano and welcome to this edition of body performance. Have you ever bumped into somebody who has lost weight or is in the process of losing weight and they somehow become the nutrition Nazi expert? Analyze everything they stick in their mouths, you invite them over to dinner, you go out to dinner and they are asking you, do you know how many carbs this has? How many grams of fat does this have? Does this have sugar, because I cannot have sugar? It drives you nuts.
Obviously, you want to have a diet that has got a good mixture of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates but let me let you in on a little secret, it does not matter if a food is no fat or low fat or no sugar or low sugar. It can still make you fat. In the end, it is still the total number of calories that that food contains and the total number of calories that go into your mouth. That is what causes weight gain. It is not whether it is high fat, low fat, no fat, that makes no difference. It is still total of number of calories in versus total number of calories expended. So while you do want to diet that has got a well rounded mixture of proteins, fats and carbohydrates and a good mixture of foods, it is still the total number of calories you take in at the end of the day.
I will see you next time. Love your body.
