Hi! My name is Jules Sy. I have been working for real estate for six years now. Prior to that, I too lost a corporate job after being a computer geek for almost 16 years. In 2005, with foreclosures rising in the job market, and the economy taking here in Michigan, I began negotiating with lenders and getting them to agree to take less than what so on the mortgages. So, people could get out from under their upside-down houses. This is called the short sale. Now, it seems like everyone is doing that. Give me a break!
Since 2005, I have negotiated a hundred of short sales and I get about 70% to 80% of them approved. Is that good? Well, my team did not nicknamed me “bank bully” for nothing. It is certainly better than the 10% national average at realtor’s experience. This success is little to do with me but mostly, it has to do with how our team upgrades in the system we have created to get these deals approved. Our team is passionate about helping families focus on the future and getting them back to the better times. I am proud of what we have accomplished together.
I love my job because it is a way that I can make a dent in the injustice that many of these have put people into. I do also believe that when long, term hardships occur in people’s lives, which are out of their control, job loss, death of a spouse, disability, divorce. They should not have to try to deal with the foreclosure on top of all that. It is awesome that we are able to take that stress away for so many families.
I also love to problem solve. There are so many things that can and do go wrong when negotiating short sales. I like to be in the action fixing things, so that they can continue to move forward. I am also the main back up for Emily, our foreclosure specialist and case manager. Emily or Ma’am, as we like to call her is likely to be your first point of contact to help you solve your foreclosure situation but if she is tied up, you and I will likely talk.
