Robert W. Young: Can you say something about the time lag or the absence of a time lag between his grab and your reaction? Kelly McCann: Well, yeah, great point Robert, because we think so much differently than martial arts where the hand grabs and then when you do your drills, and you are grabbing the arm without regards to what his off hand is doing and without regard also for the fact that he may retract this arm. He may see that I am grabbing it and because in my martial arts training I have always been allowed to do that, he just jerks it away. So for a combater, as soon as -- put your hand inside; as soon as he grabs me I am in motion. There is no lag, there is not waiting, because the moral high ground to do these things comes from being avoidant. It comes from being avoiding a confrontation. It comes from seeking a way out. So at the moment that I feel compelled to do this, I have got the true moral authority to rip his head off.
