And did you ever file the lottery? these are my lucky numbers, hopefully they are going to be lucky for me this way. You know last week I was really lucky actually, want to try that. This is the explanation for the fantastic instant lottery effect; it is going to take you about 20 minutes to construct the special gimmick which is needed to perform this effect. Obviously you are going to need a brand new 10 pound note, some blank lottery ticket, scissors and you will need a pen later, glue stick. Then you start off by actually cutting down one of the lottery tickets, I do this by cutting of the game of the box in all the advertising space.
I also cut off this barcode bits at the side, the same size as the ten pound. So with this whole cut down, you now need to pre-fold the blank lottery ticket, I folded up from the right over to the left, it is not neat start again and then fold again from the right over to the left, crease this edge with your finger nail and then go from the bottom up to the top and then you are going to turn the whole thing in for in and then you are going to need to take your glue stick and apply some glue to this surface here.
You then take your ten pound note, in this position you do not want any of the lottery ticker showing so that gets glued right in that position there. To fold up the ten pound note first of all, you fold it over in half and then folded over once again from the left to the right. You make the fold so the edges a inline with the blank lottery ticker but you leave a little bit of a gap, this happens naturally because when you unfold it you will be able to get your thumb underneath that bit of a ten pound. You then fold the next a bit down and you lend up with this bit here.
So when you unfold that later, it will be a lot easier to unfold that is how you prepare the gimmick. To perform the instant lottery effect, you are going to start with the Blank lottery ticket, unfold it and then ten pound note, underneath folded up as previously described.
The grip to hold the Blank lottery ticket before you do the change, you literally butted up against your hand and the little finger here goes up, uncovers the edge of the ten pound note. This means now, you can turn your hand over and quite cleanly show that lottery ticker on both sides but do not make a move of this, you can just literally flash the other side of it very quickly.
Another thing that I have done here is with the pen I have marked tough on the first box, six numbers, this is a very important part of the misdirection because I will talk about this game, I am going to play this week on the lottery and I will focus people’s attention on this end of the lottery ticket. You are going to fold up the Blank ticket in exactly the same way that we describe before so it goes in half, in half again and there.
You then ask the spectator if they have ever been lucky at all on the lottery but to achieve the change, all you do is literally pivot up the wrist and at the same time you spin around the ten pound note. It looks like it does not leave your side at all. You turn it over and just spin it around and that really does looks flash because of the space in the false that I set about before, you can now get your thumb underneath and quickly unfold that lottery ticket. Once again, the fingers cover the Blank lottery ticket underneath and you can flash it on both sides.
But another little subtlety I like to employ here, I fold this part of the ten pound note under and I take it between my fingers on the thumb and very cleanly indeed you can then show at both sides and they see your hand empty because obviously the ticket is folded up inside the ten pound note. But for some reasons, psychologically they think that they have seen both sides of the ten pound note as you show it before you put it away inside your pocket. It really is an incredible effect.
It is one of those effects that you really enjoy practicing because as you do it, you will fool yourself with that and you will start to see the moment that it actually looks like it most into a ten pound note, you will see that moment for yourself. When you perform the instant lottery effect for a spectator you will absolutely blow them away.
