Female: Namaste. My name is Miyuki Fox and I am a model with Ford and I am also a Vedic Yoga instructor. Today, I am going to teach you a couple breathing techniques which in Sanskrit we call Pranayama. Prana is actually breath and Ayama means control A good one to start your practice off with is Nadi Shodhana. So let us begin at the front of our mat with our feet together and bring it right on up and close your right nostril with your index finger and your middle finger and we are going to inhale for five counts, raising our left arm and we are going to hold here at the top, we are taking our breath for five counts and then you are going to switch closing your left nostril and exhaling for five counts. Then starting with the right again, inhaling for five. Contracting and holding our breath here in the center for five. Then switch and exhaling again to the left. You want to do it for about five minutes. You can close your eyes. It helps balance and calm your mind and prepare you for your practice. Next, we are going to do a cooling breath and this is good to do at the end of your practice and it is called Shitali. It is good to use a meditation cushion because it helps you straighten your spine so you could sit up nice and straight and so let us begin by sticking our tongue out and curling it side. It kind of forms like a tunnel and inhaling through the tongue. You want to hear a hissing sound. After you do that, you want to retain it and drop your chin to your chest and then exhaling through the nose and that is one round. You want to continue to do it for about five minutes so that is two Pranayamas. One to start with and one to end with and I thank you for joining me today and I will have some new videos for you in the future. Female: Catch more Ford Model Yoga on Vcast from Verizon Wireless.
