One thing that's very important to me is that a student athlete call me, email me, speak with me, return calls to me, not mom or dad, because they really want her to come to Franklin and Marshall. But I want to know that that student athlete, that this is a good fit for her and that this is where she wants to be not where her mom and dad want her to be. I think that's a very, very important point. I think so often parents have controlled their lives for so long and they want, they see what's best for them and they want what's best for them.
But a college experience, academically and athletically, is really up to the student and if it's not a good fit, it's not going to work. And so I think allowing the student athlete to participate clearly in the process and to determine the process and select the school where she wants to go is so important in getting your son or daughter to the right place and I think it's very, very much incumbent upon the student athlete to drive the process and not the parents.
