Male: Dude, what are you wearing? Male 2: It is armor, I made it myself over the weekend. Male: Why? Male 2: To fight a dragon! Male: There is no such thing as— Male 2: Dude! Be strong whole made armor! Corinne: Welcome to Thread Head. The weekly do it yourself show that inspires you to create and recreate some outrageous styles right in your own home. Rob: Now we take DIY pretty seriously. We make the show on our apartment and we shoot the show from around the country ourselves, and if we are not make our own clothes, we are supporting folks to do. Back up, you are probably wondering who the hell we are. This is Corrine, she is an environmental actress, who taught me the wild ways of DIY fashion and the magic of good will. Corinne: And this is Rob. He is a music nerd, writer and artist. His past jobs have taken him all around the world to interview rock stars and blog about it. This is also the first show we have ever hosted together. Recently, we received this video’s emission for John Paul. John: Hi Thread Banger, my name is John Paul, I need some help with my shirts. Male 3: Yo what is up Thread Bangers, keep your thread banging. Miguella: My name is Miguela Francis, I just found this site actually, it is really cool. Corinne: So now that we have seen how it is done in the shop, I am going to show you how to screen print right in your own home. So first pick out the image you are going to use then print it out. Now get out your embroidery hoop and fabric of choice. With your pencil, trace the outline of your image onto the fabric. Face your screen with fabric facing down in the spot you want. Next, take your fabric ink and glop little down on the screen. Use a piece of cardboard to spread it around making sure to get full coverage. Slowly peel the screen away from the shirt. Rob: Then we saw the new ready made refashion issue and new with the sign. We just have to do something on making patterns out of junk. First, inspired from the cover, we literally screen printed the dress using an old metal window screen and a can of spray paint. And then there is bracket thing, we randomly found this like two years ago walking down the street in LA and has been sitting in our closet ever since. Finally we get to use it. We coated it with a bunch of a fabric ink and then apply it firmly. At first to the skirt and then to this plain handbag turning both into totally brand new gear. Corinne: You will be amazed of how much the great stuff gets thrown in the dumpster. Rob: This week we found expired coffee which we are going to use to answer viewer question. Got any ideas for fixing up old jeans? Corinne: We sure do and it includes dying those jeans in these coffee grains. Rob: Alright, the first thing you are going to do is to make the dye. You will need you coffee preferably expressive rate. We are going to use two of these which are about 10 ounces a piece. Now, do you know about these in a dumpster, expect to pay about above 15 in your local supermarket. I would not drink that if I were you. So we are going to test out these tailoring your own shirt idea that we got in YouTube. This is one of my baggy shirts so with my mom’s help, we are going to pinch and pin about that much off of each side and see if we can get it fit nicer. It works! You can see how nice sleeves fit now, it is tight on my sides, perfectly fit for me. Male 4: This week on how to Tuesdays, a lesson from Lee Beredith(ph) to do step scenes. How to make Ninja mittens.
