[Music Playing] You know, just before you paint either new or existing woodwork in a home, if you really want a professional look, you got to caulk all of those little cracks where the woodwork touches another piece of woodwork or where the woodwork touches the wall. Now, how do you that? You need a few items to get a really good job. Here is what you are going to want to get. Make sure you get a really professional caulk on. I suggest that you use acrylic or latex type caulk that matches the color of the paint you are going to finish with and get yourself a bucket of water and a tile grout sponge. You get the professional caulking at any place in a paint store that sells really good high quality items. These caulking generally cost between $12.00 and $15.00 and you get a lot more control with those guns when you squeeze the trigger. You get the tile grout sponges at ceramic tile stores or at any place that sells ceramic tile grout. These sponges different from regular sponges, they have got nice soft rounded edges. Now, when you get ready to caulk, here is what you are going to do, make sure you cut the tip of the caulk tube to match the size of the crack that you are caulking. If you cut the tip too much and too much caulk flows out, when you squeeze the gun, you are going to have a big mess on your hands. I would like to caulk about two feet at a time, wipe the excess caulk off with my finger and then follow with the damp grout sponge. Make sure you do not leave any excess caulk on the woodwork. Oh, yes. Does that not look a lot better? I told you, caulking is the finishing touch, it is what you need to make your job look like a pro was there.
