Hi! This is Mama Shan with some instructions for you how to unzip Mama’s Lip Gloss Optimizer Actions and load them into Photoshop along with the demo of how you can utilize these actions. So once you get your actions in your e-mail, you will save them to your desktop and then it will be in a zip folders like this, if you are on PC, just right click and choose Extract All. If you are on Macintosh, it will look like a white piece of paper with a zipper up in the middle. Mac users can double click and it will extract the Zip folder. The Wizard will open up to extract click next, and then just click next again. And then, finish. It will extract to the same location where the Zip folder is. It will have the same name but a different look. It would not have the zipper on it. And this is where you will target the actions when you load them into Photoshop.
So open up your Actions Pallet, if you do not see it, in your interface, you can always open it up by going under the Top Window Menu and selecting Actions. Once Actions is opened up, let me move this over here like this, click the Fly out arrow tab of the Actions pallet and choose the Load Actions command. When this opens up, navigate to your desktop and the Mama’s Lip Gloss Optimizer folder, and you want to load in the mamaslipglossoptimizer.atn file. So click on that and click Load. The action will pop in, in your pallet at the very bottom.
And the first action is the Copyright Notice. So if you click on this and play, it is not going to do anything to your image. It is just going to give you this message with the copyright information. And so, you want to start the Lip Gloss Optimizer by clicking on the actual Mama’s Lip Gloss Optimizer state that is inside of the folder here. So this is collapsible and expandable. Inside it is more than one action. I have included quite a few actions in here so that you can finesse this effect. And so, I will have this highlighted like this, and I am just going to move this out a little bit over here because I just want to look at the lip area before I start this action. And I want tot make sure I can see my Top Options bar as well.
So with this state highlighted, and your image open, I have a background here. I just want to mention too this will work even if it is at a point in your workflow, where it is another layer or something like that. But, what we are going to do here is just click Play. And we get this message, choose a selection tool and all Normal Tool Options, make a rough selection around the lips, including a little of the surrounding skin. Continue the action by pressing the Play button at the bottom of Actions. But press Stop now to make selection, and this is very important. Click Stop now, and this stops the action right at that state inside of the actions.
So the instructions were get a Selection Tool and I find it easiest just to get the Rectangular Marquee tool or the Oval Marquee Tool, and just drag a selection around the lip area like so. Remember; leave some of the skin area in as well. So once you have the selection running, just simply click the Play button that is at the bottom of the Actions Pallet.
The next message, now that you have an active selection when the next dialogue box opens, choose the Eye Dropper with the Plus sign and click on a couple of existing highlights on the lips. Increase or decrease the fuzziness setting to isolate these highlights. Now this action is not going to put gloss optimizer on lips that have no highlights at all, no lighter area at all. It would not work very well. But it is an optimizer so it is going to take existing light areas and it is going to gloss them up. So I am going to click continue, and now, this Dialogue box opens up. And I am going to click the Plus Eyedropper right over here in the middle, and the fuzziness amount. I am going to start out at 16 with this one. And then I am going to just come right inside and click on these highlights here. And I am going to click some right here in this dip in the upper lip. Maybe a couple more down here, and when it looks about like
