http://www.kofax.com/vrs - VRS has robust image enhancement features and scanning automation capabilities that reduce the need for manual intervention. VRS makes even difficult-to-read or damaged documents legible, auto-rotates documents to the same orientation, and automatically switches between color or black & white modes.

Today, I am going to show you how you can scan a variety of different documents with a single scanning with VRS. I’ve got a range of very challenging documents today. I got these alt sized documents and I will scan it upside down. It is single sided. I got this medical form with the highlighter and some faint pencil ticks here. I’ve got this dark blue form, single sided. I’ve got an airway bill with a gradient with a signature in the dark part of the gradients and I got some very faint matrix ticks. I will on purpose also scan this 90 degree rotated. Now finally, I got a double sided dark orange document. So, we will scan all of these stuff together with a single setting. I will also skew in a little bit in the feeder. This is really the concept of scan it in no matter how you scan it in, no matter what quality, it will come out perfectly, thanks to VRS. So the first document going through which is the alt sized document. It is rotated perfectly and everything is represented well. The medical form, the dark blue document, the document with the gradient and the matrix, and finally, the double-sided printed documents. And as you can see, you can browse through the pages now. The yellow one which I scanned upside down, what VRS did, it analyzed quickly the content and it saw that it was scanned upside down. It rotated it to 180 degrees. The next one is extremely challenging. Let me show you the original again. We have two objects which are competing. On one hand, we have the dark orange highlighter, on the other hand, we have the pencil text. If you want to make the pencil text clear with normal scanning, we would have to darken the image. If we want to make the highlighter clear so that the text inside the highlighter is clear, we have to make it lighter. If we make this lighter, it disappears. If we make this darker, this disappears. So it is kind of a conflicting object on one single. VRS is perfectly capable representing both with a single scan and a single setting. As you can see, the urgent pencil text here is perfectly crisp and clear. And then, you have the highlighted text, and the highlight is still kind of outlined so it is still clear that there is a highlighter. And then inside the highlighter, you can see the text perfectly readable. The next page is the dark document, dark blue. Again, this normally requires a lighter setting while this requires a darker setting. So even a mixture between documents, it does not matter. VRS will automatically compensate and represents everything on this dark document. Then, we have the airway bill. And as you can see, it is still in the stack, 90 degrees rotates. And the analysis of VRS took care of the fact that it was 90 degrees rotated and put it straight on the screen. You can also see that the carbon copy text is now very readable as well. Still, the signature is there and this gradient part is completely suppressed. And then finally, we have the double sided document. All of the others were single sided. We did not see any of the back sides. This one because it has two sides, well, VRS detected content on the back side and automatically preserved that back side. In other words, VRS makes it possible to really scan a variety of different documents, different colors, double sided, single sided, mixed sizes, skewed, upside down, it does not matter, everything is corrected on the fly. You don’t have to worry about it. Scanning with a single setting. If you have more questions, please contact us and we will tell you even more about VRS.
