Hey! What is up? Indy Mogulers I am Ramon Desusa and today on Weekend Extra, I am going to show you how to do this cool cartoon effect without using a green screen. And, if you are wondering where is Steve Nelson is, let us just say he is kind of tied up at the moment. Take a look. Hey, do not look at me I did not put him there. [Music Playing] Now, to do this effect all you need is a camera, a tri pod, some basic editing software and an object to hide behind. As long as the object is something that you obviously can not hide behind in real life. The first thing you are going to do are to get some footage of the object you are hiding behind by itself. Because later when we put this footage into the editing room, it is what is going to create the illusion that you are actually hiding behind this. Now, you can jump on screen and pretend that you are hiding behind the object. But, remember to keep the camera in the same exact spot that it was when you tape the object by itself. Otherwise, it is going to ruin the effect. So, now you just step behind your object and move from one side to the other. Whatever else you want to do. Everyday, your fingers make countless selfish clicks. [Music Playing] Have a couple for your friends Share Indy Mogul. It is as easy as one, two, three and then you can get back to whatever else it was you were doing. [Sounds Playing] Now, you are ready to bring the footage in to your editing program. I am using final cut but you can use this effect with any editing program that allows you to crop and use 2 video tracks. The first step is the selected clip of the object by itself and drags it down to the canvass or time line. Then, select the clip of you are active behind the object and then drag that down to the canvass. Now, select the clip of the object by itself and delete the audio. Then place above the clip that contains your actor. Now, select the crop tool. Crop the top clip from the side that you want your actor to appear in. Crop the screen to the middle of your object. Now, if you press play, you will see that your actor appears to come out from behind the object. When in fact, you are just blocking the other side of his or her body. This is why it is very important to keep your camera in the same exact spots for both shots. Any camera moving will completely spoil the elusion. So, there you have it, a cartoon hiding effect without using the green screen. Now, let us check out the test mode. [Music Playing]
