Victoria: Hi! I am Victoria, but my dog Hector is the sweetest, sweetest dog and he hasn't ever, ever bite but he is still a dog and you never know that sometimes he is going to do bite people. So, these are few situations in which the dog might bite. The first one is called Dominance Aggression that can happen if you take something away from the dog that he is playing with or eating, something personal, he just wants it back. Second situation is if the dog is shocked because someone approaches too quickly and someone who he didn't know, a stranger. Even a family member sometimes, if the dog don't expect him yet, he might bite. The next one is kind of similar, although, it is called Protective Territorial Aggression. Usually, a dog might get bit nervous if some one approaches you, the owner of the dog, that they don't know. A lot of times delivery man, delivery man comes to the door, he opened it, dog does not know who he is, you'll notice that the dog is getting a bit, he can bit him.
Predatory Aggression; now this is most commonly seen in dog chasing squirrels, for example. Sometime small children running around get them excited. Bicycles, skateboards, anything that moves really fast, your dog is going to bite for every time. Last but not the least, it is the most obvious of all; Punishment Elicited Aggression. You kick dog, dog bites you, it's not rocket science. Even if your dog is the sweetest, who is a gentle creature, he is a dog. If he is going to get in a fight with another dog, you just need to stay away because if you get involved, he is going to bite you and he is not going to mean that.
So hopefully, you will not have to find yourself in any of these situations. You might think he is your best friend but he is just like a human and da-la-la-la but he is a dog, he is an animal and it is unpredictable what he is going to do. So, be careful.
