How To Apply Under Eye Brightener

There are several causes of why dark circles appear under the eye. Some of which are increased melanin, lack of sleep, thinning of skin, and puffiness of the skin. At present, there are many brands of under eye brighteners on the market. Almost all of them have different directions.  A lot of consumers find themselves asking, ‘How do I properly apply the product to get the best looking results?’ Well here are some tips on applying an under-eye brightener.

The first step is to pick the right brightener for your skin type and color. You want to make sure that if you have oily skin, you do not want to pick a brightener that has a lot of oil in it. This will create a mudslide on your face. Also, you do not obviously want to pick a brightener that is tan when you have fair skin. These are important steps.

Secondly, you will need an under-eye concealer brush. This will make the application of the brightener more precise. It would also help the under-eye brightener to blend in to the skin more. You can find these brushes at beauty stores like Ulta, Sephora, or Sally’s Beauty Supply.

Thirdly, this should be the last part of eye makeup you apply. Eye shadow and Mascara should already be applied. This is because if you have fallout from applying eye shadow or mascara with the brightener already on, you will have to reapply the brightener. So save yourself some time, and apply it last.
Next, you should put a dab of brightener on the back of your hand. This will allow easy access to the brightener as you are applying it to your face. Also, make sure that you do not put a lot or it will run off your hand.
Now you are ready to apply the brightener. You would want to start by working from the inner corner of your eye. This should also follow underneath the lash line and covering up any darkness. Also, apply brightener under the brow to lift the brow area. This also gives definition to the brow. This would create a sideways ‘u’ to the areas that brightener is applied to. Be careful to not apply too much brightener because it would cause it to look cakey. The brightener could get caked into wrinkle lines under the eye.
Last of all, you should apply your foundation and powder to the rest of your face. This will complete your look.

The end result should be natural looking. It should also neutralize and brighten the under-eye area. It should look like you have had the most restful night sleep and it should in turn make you look refreshed.
