How To Use Natural Hair Conditioners

Mayonnaise, eggs, avocado, yogurt... No, this article is not about food recipes. It is all about natural hair conditioners.  Say what? Yes, you read it right. You might be surprised but you can actually find natural hair conditioners right in your very own home, particularly in your kitchen!

It is like going back to basics. Have you ever wondered what the old, old generations used for their hair before all these big hair product manufacturers came up with all these hair care products? I mean, there was no Loreal, Revlon or Silk way back then, was there? And did you ever wonder why Julia Roberts had her hair full of mayonnaise in the movie, "Dying Young"? Watch it again if you don’t remember.

Fruits, vegetables and other food ingredients give us vitamins, minerals and antioxidants needed for a healthy life. These organic products complement our hair as well. They are not only natural and safe but provide the same benefits as commercial hair care products do if not more as these do not contain dangerous chemicals so they are never harmful.  Natural products are made from herbs and are grown organically. Using organic hair conditioners is good for the environment as it cuts down not only the chemicals produced, but also the chemicals that are thrown back to the environment.

Another benefit of using natural hair conditioner is that you can easily make one at home. This makes it cheap and readily available. To help you get started, here are some ingredients that you have in your kitchen that you can use as hair conditioners.  Just follow these simple steps.

  1. Mayonnaise with avocado - Mix together one small jar of mayonnaise and half of an avocado until it is smooth. Apply the creamy mixture to your hair. Then place a shower cap on your head. Leave the mixture on your hair for twenty minutes. Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Egg yolk with olive oil - Beat one egg yolk. Mix with one tablespoon of olive oil. Add in one cup of lukewarm water to dilute the mixture. Dampen your hair. Pour the egg yolk conditioner on your hair and let it set for 5 minutes. Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Egg and yogurt - Beat one egg. Mix in the yogurt. Apply mixture on your hair for ten minutes. Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly.

Just try any of these mixtures and viola! You have soft, shiny, bouncy hair!
No more long hours of comparing prices and brands among hair conditioners at the store rack. No more mind boggling selection of whether to get a shampoo with built in hair conditioner, a deep hair conditioner or a color hair conditioner. Natural hair conditioner is simply healthy, environment-friendly, readily available, inexpensive and packed with all the natural ingredients that are kind to your hair!

So the next time you bake a cake or prepare that special dish for your family, toss some of those ingredients on to your hair for an instant natural hair conditioning treatment.
