How To Clear Your Lungs

If you are a smoker or if you live in a polluted environment in the city, you may feel that your lungs are dirty or you might feel shortness of breath. It is important that you learn how to clear your lungs once in a while so that you can feel rejuvenated and energetic when you breathe. There are some things that you can do to clear your lungs. Follow the simple steps below.

Here are the steps on how you can clear your lungs and be healthy:

  1. Find a location. When you are planning to clear your lungs, the location where you are going to do it is important. You cannot expect to get your lungs clean if you are going to do it in a polluted environment. Drive to a countryside or go some place else where pollution is not rampant. This will not only help clear your lungs but it will also help you feel relaxed.
  2. Breathing exercise. When you have found your location, find a place where you can do breathing exercises comfortably. Take a deep breath and inhale through your nose. Feel the air filling your lungs until you can no longer take in air. Afterwards, exhale slowly through your mouth until there is no more air that you can expel. Repeat this breathing exercise a few more times and you will feel better afterwards. On your last rep, bend your body down when you exhale. This will compress the walls of your lungs and will allow you to exhale a little extra air. Afterwards, stand straight up and do your normal breathing until your heartbeat returns to normal.
  3. Exercise. Another way to clear your lungs and make them stronger is through exercise. You can do different forms of exercise and this will make your lungs stronger and healthier. Some of the exercises you can engage in are yoga, Pilates, swimming and other cardio workouts. Try to exercise at least half an hour daily to build up your lung muscles.
  4. Quit smoking. If you are a smoker, now is the time that you should stop. Smoking will quicken the deterioration of the lungs and this can lead to other illnesses that can be deadly. There is no formula for quitting smoking. The best thing to do is to stop and try to find other activities that will help get your mind off of smoking. After quitting, you will feel the difference when you breathe.

When you find that you are wheezing, coughing or you have shortness of breath, you will need to cleanse your lungs. If you live in the city, it will be good for you if you go on a vacation where you can inhale fresh air that is not polluted. Breathing in fresh air will do wonders for your lungs and make you feel healthier.
