1. Breathing

After a few times of doing this, your brain begins to get the message that everything is fine. This eventually will slow down your heart and help you relax before you know it. 

2. Stay Active

Because the mind and body are linked, staying active is not only great for your body it is also good for the brain. We are not saying you have to work out until you are achy and drenched in sweat, what we are saying is to have at least a modest amount of physical activity every day. 

If 30 minutes feels like too much, break it up into 10-minute sessions of a short walk, short dance, speed cleaning, etc.

Find something that gives you a purpose to live another day. Your purpose can be an aging parent you are caring for, caring for a pet you adore, volunteering, etc. When you find purpose and meaning in life it can help your brain health, it can relieve stress, and strengthen your immune system, which is good for coping with mental health.
